Connectors are a perpetual problem in electronics and electrical work.
They have to connect properly. They have to not disconnect. They have to not degrade. They have to be water tight. The polarity can not be reversed. They have to not be reactive metals, etc, etc...

Dupont Connectors / Mini-PV
The connectors / cables used on the Arduino Uno and sold everywhere in single or ribbon types. You are doing yourself a disservice if you do not learn how to use these. You don't have to spend a lot of money, and there are a number of tricks such as repurposing previously crimped connectors in new housings, making custom partial housings, and using blank female or male pins to add support to a partial connector. These tricks can be learned by watching youtube videos or researching online.
In any case, I've crimped a lot of RJ45 cables, a few spade and ring connectors, and now the dupont connectors, and the most satisfying are the dupont connector, without a doubt. An excellent connector to crimp.

Measure your Connectors/Cables
- https://www.eevblog.com/forum/renewable-energy/wrong-crosssection-of-cables/ - Measure your connectors/cables, and try to spot the ripoff.
Power Cord Connector Tables
These are helpful. The second one is from Mcmaster.
