Metable Wire around a Resistor
A simple physical actuator mechanism by burning wire. The simplest way is to have as the following (from Amp Hour 679):
Dan Esparon: Yep. That's pretty much it. Right. As far as I'm aware. At least that's what the test pods look like. Yeah. Very low tech. Very reliable. I mean, our solar panels, you see a lot of the solar panels on CubeSats and antenna elements even. They're all, all the hold down release mechanisms for them are all burn wire. So you wrap a little bit of meltable wire around a resistor. Yes. Get up the resistor. I've done that.
I'm not sure what wire is used, or if it's the same as fusible wire / fuse wire / fusible links, which are found in the automotive industry.
