- Since microcontrollers have become inexpensive (there are 3 cent micros from china), it should be cheap to replace the paper temperature, humidity, and shock indicators with digital replacements (these are used in shipping products e.g. https://www.mcmaster.com/products/temperature-indicators/humidity-indicating-cards-2~/). These should be made reusable and reprogrammable. They should not end up like vape pens, where they are discarded after use. That is the scenario we want to avoid.
